Why use PDF Karigar to convert PDF to Word?

Get editable text back out of a PDF so you can change it in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice. Paragraphs and headings are rebuilt in a .docx file.

  • Private by design. Files are processed on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, stored or shared.
  • Free, with no catch. No sign-up, no watermarks and no daily limits.
  • Works everywhere. Runs in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone.

Getting the best Word file from a PDF

How well a PDF converts depends on how it was made. PDFs exported from Word, Google Docs or similar programs contain real text, so paragraphs and headings come back editable. A scanned page is only a picture of text, so there are no words in it to extract.

  • For a long document, try a few pages first. Pull them out with Extract pages and convert those.
  • After converting, check tables, numbered lists and page breaks. They’re the parts most likely to need a quick tidy-up.
  • Fonts that aren’t on your computer are swapped for similar ones in Word, so line breaks can move slightly.
  • If you only need the words, for example to paste into an email or a form, PDF to Text is faster and gives clean plain text.
