Why use PDF Karigar to compress a PDF to 200 KB?
200 KB gives scanned pages room to stay clear, so it suits a CV with certificates, a transcript or a short scanned pack. PDF Karigar finds the best quality that fits under the limit and never touches your original file.
- Ready for 200 KB forms. The limit is set before you start, so one tap does the job.
- Private by design. Files are processed on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, stored or shared.
- Free, with no catch. No sign-up, no watermarks and no daily limits.
- Works everywhere. Runs in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone.
Making a document pack fit in 200 KB
A 200 KB limit often appears when a form wants several pages in one upload: a CV with its certificates, a set of transcripts, or both sides of an ID card in one file. It gives each page about twice the room of a 100 KB limit, which shows most on scanned pages.
Putting several documents into one file
- Join the documents with Merge PDF, in the order the form lists them.
- Delete what the form didn’t ask for, such as blank backs of pages, with Remove pages. Every page you drop leaves more room for the rest.
- Compress the finished file once, on this page. One pass at the end keeps more quality than compressing each part separately.
Photographing paper documents
Lay each page flat in daylight and fill the frame, then build the PDF with Scan to PDF. Its document filter turns a grey, shadowy background white, and clean white paper compresses much better than a dim photo.
If it still won’t fit
- Convert the pack to black and white with Grayscale PDF if colour isn’t required.
- Check whether the form takes more than one file. If it does, divide the pack with Split PDF.
- Only need a single page under a tighter limit? Compress a PDF to 100 KB explains what fits in the smaller size.
Want a different size? Compress PDF takes any limit in KB or MB.
Compress PDF to 200 KB: frequently asked questions
How many pages fit in 200 KB?
It depends on what is on them. Typed pages are tiny, so long documents fit easily. Scans and phone photos take most of the space: two or three photographed pages fit under 200 KB with clearly more detail than at 100 KB.
Should I merge my files before or after compressing?
Before. Combine them with Merge PDF, then compress the finished file once. Compressing each part and merging afterwards usually gives a bigger file at lower quality.
Can I bring several PDFs to 200 KB each at once?
Yes. Add them together and each file is compressed on its own to fit under 200 KB. They download together as one .zip file.
Is 200 KB the same as 0.2 MB?
Nearly. 200 KB is 0.195 MB, because 1 MB is 1,024 KB. If a form states its limit in MB, Compress PDF lets you type the size in MB instead.
Does compressing change my original file?
No. You download a new, smaller copy and the original on your device is untouched. Keep it for printing and for forms that allow bigger files.
